Measurements for a corset are taken in the same way as measurements for a bra.
Stand in front of a mirror and wrap a tape measure securely around your chest. The tape should be just under or at the crease behind your breasts and square across your back. Make a note of this measurement in inches. To find your band size, do the following: If the number is even, add 4 to get your band size If the number is odd, add 5 to get your band size
Example, if you wrote down 36, add 4 and your corset size will be 40.
If you have a DD cup size or above you would go one cup size higher.
We have a number of Dreamgirl corsets in sizes 5X-8X. These are limited edition and very difficult to get hold of. For these garments, Dreamgirl have used a different sizing convention which is shown below.
If you are near the top of the measurements for a size and your breasts are larger than DD cup, then you may consider the next size up.
Calculating your cup size
Measure yourself as above, but this time measure across the fullest part of your bust. Hold the tape snugly.
If there is no difference between this measurement and the previous measurement, then you are an A cup. If the measurement is: 1" greater then your are a B cup. 2" greater then your are a C cup. 3" greater then your are a D cup. 4" greater then your are a DD/E cup. 5" greater then your are a F cup and so on.
